Bookish links I enjoyed this past week #8

I am a serial reader and love non-fiction articles. For me to find it again and for you to enjoy, I’ll share it here weekly.

1) Our faithful Problogger reacted on the Ikeahacks trouble. Some more encouragement to do more and protect our work online. http://www.problogger.net/archives/2014/06/18/why-bloggers-need-to-do-more-than-just-trademark-their-blog-name/

2) Cory Doctorow Novel Pulled from School reading for questioning authority. Now I don’t agree that books or movies or games or any of these things cause issues like questioning authority. It just amplifies what is already there!!! http://www.theguardian.com/books/2014/jun/10/cory-doctorow-novel-pulled-school-reading-questioning-authority

3) So what is it like to write a first novel. Natasha Lester shares her experience.http://www.natashalester.com.au/2014/06/10/writing-first-draft-novel-really-like/

4) Now this is a fascinating website. Enter some of your writing here and identify places where your info are used without your permission. I’ve heard some horrendous things about online content being plagiarised. http://www.plagiarismchecker.com/

5) Book towns: Where reading is the reason to live. I am so jealous about these towns! I don’t know any such town with such rich reasons. This would be bliss… http://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/booktowns-where-reading-is-the-reason-to-live
